TBG Residential, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a real estate firm specializing in the development, construction and property management of affordable housing for working families and seniors. We manage a portfolio of over 1300 housing units in the Southeast and Midwest. As a small, privately held firm, we are committed to serving the housing needs of the local community with high quality, attractive apartment and single family homes.

We have a talented staff of financial, operational and construction professionals who drive the Company's mission to expand affordable housing in underserved markets. Our team members have extensive professional experience and remarkable tenure with TBG Residential which contributes to our stability and productivity.

The company is a living legacy started three generations ago in Michigan. Incorporated in 1928, the company has withstood the pressures of significant economic times, including the Great Depression and the Great Recession. We have learned to adapt to new markets and changing customer expectations as well as maintained solid management and financial practices.

    Kevin N. Buckner - President

    Kevin Buckner has 30 years of development, property management, and financial experience with the company. He is responsible for the strategy, finance and oversight of the company. Kevin manages all partnerships and investor relations with banks and investment firms. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Degree in Finance.

    Brad Smith - Senior Vice President

    As a partner in TBG Residential, Brad is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Company, which include company strategy, business development and portfolio oversight. Brad has been with the Company since 1996 and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Business Management.

    Amelia Johnson- Vice President of Development

    Amelia Johnson has 12 years of experience in the LITHC/Affordable Housing arena. At TBG, she is responsible for site selection in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina as well as Proposal Development for tax credit submittals. Amelia has a Masters Degree in Community Planning from Auburn University.  She received her B.A. degree in Political Science from St. Mary's College.  Prior to joining TBG, Amelia worked for Reznick Group, P.C.

    Mike Brandt - Vice President of Construction

    Mike Brandt has 30 years of commercial construction experience.  He is responsible for all aspects of construction for our projects.   This is inclusive of project estimating, project management and quality control. His professional experience includes the construction of schools, office buildings, warehouses and multi-family housing.   He graduated from Iowa State University with a Construction Engineering Degree.

    Melissa Helms Buckner - Vice President Marketing

    Melissa Helms Buckner has 30 years of marketing, advertising and public relations experience. She has worked in the communications industry and housing industry. She has been an active community volunteer and served on Boards of Leadership Sandy Springs, Women in Cable, and Village Atlanta. She graduated from Vanderbilt University and studied at the Sorbonne. Melissa is responsible for the company's marketing strategy and execution.
